Going on a cruise, and i’m going to get my period?

Share

I just got my period on july 29 and the cruise is a week it starts august 21. do you think i’m going to get my period while i’m on the cruise? i really hope i don’t because i’m probably gonna want to swim and stuff, and i don’t use tampons. is there a way for me to not get it while i’m on the cruise, or maybe something that will make me get it after the cruise is over? thanks very much for helping!

oh and also, if i do get it, how can i keep my mom from knowing? (she knows I have periods, but i just want it to be kept private). cause i’m gonna be sleeping in the same room as her and everything…

sorry for all the questions! lol

you probably wont get it. it depends on your cycle if you have a 28 day or 30 day cycle

Judging by your past periods, do you usually start 3 weeks after you end your period? If this is normal for you, then yes you will probably be on your period during the cruise. Just learn how to use tampons this period and you will have nothing to worry about. Trust me, tampons are amazing. It’s like a miracle inside of a box.

Just don’t tell your mom and hide all your stuff

Tampons are the only way dear. I don’t think you will get it – but maybe this is the time to start using them.

Only if you can keep her from knowing. Just don’t show her ur pads and make sure you wrap them in toilet paper after using them.

i think you may get it on the last one or two days on the cruise. i don’t think there is anything that will make it come later. oh and about your mom, don’t worry about it! i told my mom a year ago and she didn’t tell my dad… although i think he figured it out by now considering i run to the bathroom right after getting up… but on the bright side, he never said anything about it! :)

    so… hope i helped!

That same thing happened to me on my trip to mexico.
Nothing you can do about getting it when you’re supposed too.. that’s not under your control. But you can keep your mom from knowing. You can buy flush-able pads and so you don’t have to risk anyone seeing them in the garbage bin. Have fun!

it really depends on the length of your cycle… anyways if its your choice not to use tampons why don’t you?? THEY ARE AMAZING!!

It depends on your cycle when your period will come. If you just started getting periods then your cycle will most likely be unpridictable – which could mean you may or may not get it. If you do you’ll have to use tampons. If you do – remember to stay calm and relaxed if you don’t it will be harder to insert. An don’t leave it in for more than 8 hours you could get a disease called TTS. As for the whole mom thing- don’t be ashamed of being a woman , yours mom has gone through it and understands completly. Good luck and hope I helped!

It is quite likely that your period will start during that time (July was a 31 day month and if your period is a regular 28 day period that would mean your next one would start on the 26th, 5 days after the cruise starts)

I am assuming you are quite young so I’m not sure if being put on birth control would be such a good idea? However, that is how many doctors help women hold off their period before their weddings.

Otherwise, I really cannot suggest any way of hiding it from your mother if you share a room and do not use tampons. If you did use tampons I would suggest you dont (they are actually quite dangerous, uncomfortable, expensive and a bit of a pain) but get a menstrual cup instead. Using one of those would make it very easy to hide… but if you are young and do not use tampons then I do not think a menstrual cup would be a good suggestion just yet.

Honey, there is no way to control the time you are going to get your period, unless you are on birth control. You probably will not get it, but if you do, it might be time to invest in some tampons( :. I had to use tampons (for the first time) on my vacation when I went to Las Vegas, and it was SOOO hot. It’s nothing to hate, in fact, if you put it in the correct way- you can’t tell you even have one in! I’ve been on 4 cruises, and EVERY ship has a ‘convenience’ store, and they will sell souveneirs, candy, advil, but in the waaaaaayyy back, there’s like a million different types of ‘protection’ in the back. to keep your mother from knowing you are on, don’t mention anything. don’t complain about cramps, don’t ask for Midol( that’s kind of a no-brainer), and don’t let her see the bloody tampons/pads. the easiest way to do this is to get carboard, because they are flushable! even on the weak cruise line’s plumbing, they are flushable. also, make sure to change every 4-6 hrs. something you might want to invest in is like swim shorts( :
