How long will it take me to lose this weight?

Share

So I plan on doing a 50 minute tape every night at around 7 pm for 5 days a week. It’s a “Full Workout” tape, and it’s dance related
I’m 250 lbs, 5’8″, and I plan to start eating healthy.
So how long do you think it’ll take me to get to about 150-140 lbs? & how long will it take me to lose those first 50 pounds?
Btw I’m female.

Without knowing exactly how you’ll alter your diet and how rigorous the workout is, it is impossible to say how long it will take you to lose this weight. Some helpful tips/hints though: when you workout, you should be sweating and breathing hard (but not to the point of huffing and puffing). Make sure you are eating mostly fruits, vegetables, lean proteins (chicken, fish, egg whites) with some whole grains (so wheat bread, wheat pasta, brown rice, quinoa, barley). And try to eat 4 or 5 small meals throughout your day, as opposed to three large meals. Make sure you get some protein with your breakfast (egg white, turkey bacon, greek yogurt), as it will keep your fuller for longer. And make sure you’re eating enough so that you can have enough energy to fully exert yourself during your workout.

I really am not sure how long it will take your to lose 50 or 100 lbs, as there are many variables to weight loss and everyone loses weight at a different rate. But if you are working really hard, and say you lose five pounds a week (which would be a significant weight loss per week), then it would take you ten weeks to lose 50 lbs and another ten weeks to lose 100 total. The problem with trying to predict it is that often it is easy to lose a lot of weight at the beginning of your diet/exercise plan and then the body tends to plateau after a few weeks.

    Good luck!
