What is a normal dose of insulin for cats?

Ok, last question, I promise [I'd be safe with Yahoo for more than a tripwire to similar questions and followed] for my departure halten.Ich cat 1 unit of insulin Lantus in the morning once a day. I’ve been looking online notice the signs of hypoglycemia and am concerned that if I run it on the weekend that the vet will not be opened if something bad is passiert.Es some types of insulin and I can not really find a good answer to an online chat assay. I was asked to give someone their insulin [cat could say hope] Lantus me how they give their cat a day? Is it 1 unit / lot or a little once a day? If it is on the lower side, I’d feel better, it starts this weekend. But if the middle or higher doses maybe I’ll wait until Monday. Thank you to all [new] To assist in this regard. much appreciated.

The dosage depends on your body treats the cat with her. Pet Vets always start at low dose and regular monitoring of blood glucose (usually weekly), and gradually increase the dose until it is effective, just because you have mentioned. Relax, you have nothing to fear! :-) I’m sure you care a great job in your Kitty diabetics tun.Und FYI, if in the vague hope that your cat must go hypoglycemic shock, only the Karo syrup rubbed on his gums with levels sugar in the blood to rise – you should be able to pick up some groceries. Get this evening, if you do not have to concern about large.

What insilne? Did you tell your vet to start, because if he did he tell you how many units. When I started my cat on insiline (for diabetics), he fell but the vet told us he needed a full stomach beofre you give.

It depends on the cat, but 1 unit is not a great deal. Most cats I for 1 or 2 units would receive, were maintained. I know that some Karo syrup suggust get someone else suggested. If the cat lands hypogycemic it may appear “drunk” and reeling. should give you a teaspoon of Karo syrup and wait about 15 minutes and the cat “to get out.” If it does not improve after this time, time is an emergency veterinarian. Try to keep your cat on a regular schedule, try to inject the same time each day. Good Luck.

Hello, I have a diabetic cat on Lantus now. It gets 5 units twice a day, I would say 1 unit, once a day, low! It should be fine. The vet told us to keep a bottle of Karo syrup on hand, if the cat has never been a problem. If the cat is weak or can not be maintained, it should be rubbed on the gums. Our guys have had this time and we used that and thank you God, it was nice pass. It really is not a normal dose of insulin, which leads to him in training, to ensure its value and then adjust the dose. Good luck! This is not really difficult to manage. . . The cat has no objection to all the shots.
